General Characteristics: In order to create camaraderie among the children, all students grades 1 and up will participate in Fun Games first period every day.  Parents may select activities listed on the Registration Form for periods two and three. With the exception of Early Childhood children and the English as an Additional Language class, all students will have the opportunity to chose two different activities for periods two and three for each of the three weeks.

English as an Additional Language:  We will offer this class for students who need to improve their English language skills. Students will be grouped according to their age and level in small classes which will provide individualized attention.  Roosevelt students may benefit from this course by reinforcing the topics covered during the regular school program focused on a recreational perspective. THIS CLASS WILL NOT BE OFFERED.

The Early Childhood/Kindergarten Program: Designed for children from 3 to 5 years of age is child-centered. Children will be placed in a multi-age class with one teacher and a teacher assistant.   EC/K children will not select three different activities.  The maximum number of students in this class will be fifteen children. We have prepared exciting activities which include both guided and creative play, offering children a variety of hands-on experiences.  This class will be taught by a Roosevelt EC teacher who will be assisted by a Teacher Aide.

Fun Games: This activity consists of a combination of group oriented activities for boys and girls. It includes a variety of old fashioned games and new cool ones. This class is a perfect match for children who like to do something different every day.  All students will participate in this team-building activity to begin the day (period 1).

Badminton:  This  sport is played by volleying a shuttlecock back and forth over a high narrow net by means of a light, long-handled racket.” Children will develop gross motor coordination skills while they have fun learning this sport. Our coach will make sure that your children’s experiences are safe, fun and very entertaining! The school will provide the equipment.

Tee-ball  is a  team sport based on and simplifying baseball and softball. It is intended as an introduction for children aged 4 to 8 to develop ball-game skills and have fun.
