Digital Citizenship in Elementary School
Students in Grades 3, 4 and 5 worked in groups to read, discuss, analyze and reflect on each one of the statements listed in the Digital Citizenship Agreement (DCA).
The DCA provides a framework for teachers, students and parents to understand what does it mean to be a safe, responsible and respectful when using technology. It comprises several themes including online safety, privacy, appropriate etiquette, ethics, understanding age limits for web 2.0 tools, copyright laws and so on.
At the Elementary School we work together to make sure every student is not only aware but also models these guidelines as they grow to become global citizens. Ones that are able to solve problems, create, collaborate and communicate taking advantage of technology tools and resources with independence, confidence and integrity.
