One of the most powerful opportunities for students to learn is when they have the opportunity to explore, ideate, and revise. Roosevelt Digital Coaches will be exploring what that could look like for our students here on campus through the exploration and planning of the use of a Makerspace. While Makerspaces are much more than just digital technologies, our DCs will take a look at how this type of learning space could be applicable to what is already happening in the classroom. They will also be exploring with various tools that provide students the opportunity to ideate, troubleshoot, and problem solve.
Digital Coaches will work towards developing an activity like an innovation day that will encourage and promote the value of creativity and problem solving.
What should a MakerSpace look like?
Resources for Exploration & Creation
The following are resources that we will be piloting as learning resources for a MakerSpace. We hope to research and learn of additional materials that would be valuable additions to the MakerSpaces.
