Connecting and Collaborating with Students in your Classroom

Posted by xnunezdp on September 6, 2015

One way of safely connecting and collaborating with your students is through the safe and closed Edmodo.com social learning platform.

Our students in Grade 3 setup accounts at the beginning of the school year and it becomes the platform by which they communicate with their teachers from home. They get their homework in the Assignments section of Edmodo and they can ask questions from home in the afternoon.

Parents can connect using their child’s parent code to see the interaction between the teacher and their child.

It is a good initiation into social networks. Teachers comment about those posts not meant for the whole class or inappropriate comments, modeling the Digital Citizenship Agreement and giving the students guidelines for their future use of Facebook or other social networks.
