Think Green Act Green – Web Activity
Think Green, Act Green – September 18th
We have two green initiatives this week:
1. Â Start saving all your newspapers, magazines, plastic bottles, batteries, and tetra pak at home. Â Bring it all to school on Green Day, September 18, and put it in the recycle bins.
2. Â Celebrate the green initiatives on campus. Â Read through Roosevelt’s green blog (available from the home page) with your students. Â Students need to find two things from the website they didn’t already know about acting green, ask one question and post it right here in the “Events and Activities” section. Â Students in grades 3-5 can post comments individually. Â Students in EC3 – grade 2 can post comments as a whole class.

One Response
We feel enthusiastic about bringing our recycled items to school! We want to do it every month! We care about the Earth.
Ms. Katie’s class found out:
The average American uses 162 water bottles every year. Tetrapak cartons are used for making panel boards. Styrofoam is dangerous for animals and released chemicals if you use it in the microwave. Some worms are good for plants. Planting in the garden helps the environment. Batteries pollute the water. Styrofoam never decomposes.
We are interested to find out:
How to start my own compost pile at home? How do they make things recyclable? What are the effects of global Warming? How can I help at home?
