Connections to our Curriculum
A key component of the International Baccalaureate curriculum is caring for the environment.  In our preschool program,  students begin to develop a basic knowledge of what we need to do to ensure a healthy and balanced environment.  By 2nd Grade, students are exploring different strategies to make reducing, reusing and recycling a part of everyday action. When students complete their Elementary School experience in 5th Grade, they have the opportunity to identify an environmental issue in their community and take action to solve the problem.Â
The Middle Years Program continues to emphasize this curricular work and environmental issues are integrated across the curriculum. Additionally, students develop a community action project in which environmental issues can be a focus. Diploma Program students in our High School are given the option of taking environmental studies and environmental issues continue to be integrated into the curriculum.
